Hydrant has worked with the Cumbria Constabulary to launch a new mobile version of the Cumbria Police website at cumbriapolice.mobify.com. Now, people throughout Cumbria can access the latest policing information and crime news, as well as the new online traffic service, directly from their mobile devices.
Red Squirrels Northern England (RSNE) is a new red squirrel conservation partnership project that works to protect red squirrel populations in northern England. We worked alongside RSNE to replace their ageing website and redirect it to the current URL. The previous site was not as user-friendly as RSNE would have liked, and they also wanted to improve the navigation, group relevant content together and enable users to submit information on red squirrel sightings in the north of England.
We've previously talked about the success we've had with the Kennedy's Chocolates website - specifically the Drag and Drop chocolate picker. In peak seasons like Christmas, the Drag and Drop picker accounts for around 70% of online orders. And with the snow-filled Christmas of 2010, the website proved essential to the business since many people were unable to physically get to the shop in Orton.
This summer we worked alongside the team at Chester Racecourse Company to get feedback on the user experience of their Chester Races site. The data we gathered was instrumental in helping us to restructure and redesign the site to further improve the user experience.
The hydrant team has already worked with the Chester Racecourse Company on a number of projects, including their own Chester Racecourse website, their mobile site, and most recently Chester Rocks – the two-day music festival staged at the racecourse back in July. Now we’ve added an e-commerce website to the mix.
Hydrant has been working with Food and Company since it first launched their website back in 2006. Founded by sisters Joan Gate and Margaret Brough, Food and Company offers 1-day cookery courses, hands-on cookery workshops and fully-catered private events – all held in a 16th century barn in the grounds of Mirehouse, near Keswick.
In order to keep up with the company’s growth, Joan and Margaret recently approached Hydrant to update their website to reflect the changing needs of the website’s users.
The Cumbria County History Trust (CCHT) is a charity created in 2010 to coordinate and gather resources for the Victoria County History of Cumbria project, a long-term effort to research and write the history of every parish and township in Cumbria, and to make that historical information available to the general public.
Chester Rocks is a brand-new two-day outdoor music festival for summer 2011. Featuring a diverse selection of artists from pop sensations McFly, Taio Cruz, and The Saturdays to punk legends Iggy Pop and Echo and the Bunnymen, the festival will take place July 2-3 at the famous Chester Racecourse.
The Lake District Coast Aquarium is an award-winning tourist attraction in Maryport, Cumbria. They approached Hydrant to design and develop a new Drupal website that would attract new visitors to the Aquarium. They also wanted to include an online shop to generate additional revenue.
